It was a solemn atmosphere in the St. Catherine of Siena, Dominican Novitiate in Lusaka on the 1st of December 2018 when six novices of the Dominican Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart made their first vows. The Eucharistic celebration was led by Fr. Cliff Fumbelo a lecturer and Spiritual director at St. Dominic Major Seminary, together with four co-celebrants and a Dominican Deacon. Continue reading

In Zambia they use guitars and drums. St. John’s Makwa was taught to blend drums with other instruments in liturgical celebrations.
St. Fidelis Mission choir from Sichili, Zambia under Livingstone Diocese graced St. John’s Mission Makwa in Zimbabwe’s Hwange Diocese to exchange notes on church music from 6 -10 December. The exchange visit was meant to revive Makwa parish’s waning musical zeal and participation in the liturgy as only few parishioners were interested in joining the choir. Continue reading
